I am less than 18 years old. Can I foster a pet?
Animal rescue groups generally require foster parents to be 18 or 21 to foster a pet. For anyone under 18, the parents would be the foster parents and the child help out.
Don’t let that deter you, though… fostering is a great way to help and your parents may be more willing to help you with something like fostering as opposed to bringing a lifetime pet into your home. We have also found that teenagers and college students make GREAT pet fosters! Just be sure to clear it with your parents and work with the rescue to get approved.
