I already own a pet. Can I still foster?
Before you bring a foster animal home, consult with your veterinarian to make sure your own pets are up-to-date on their vaccinations. You may wish to ask your veterinarian if your pets need any additional vaccinations.
It is also usually a requirement that you have all pets spayed/neutered before you can be approved to foster.
The rescues will work with you to help you find a foster pet that will fit well in your home and with your other pets. Be sure to let them know as much as you can about your current pets so they can try to match you as well as they can.
